I feel like this is true for most writers in general but even more so for minorities. It's the write what you know and don't branch out to widely because you will lose your core audience.

Never having been a huge fan of horror, this is the level of horror that I expect all my films to be moving forward. I have 2 modes, campy or uncomfortable. This film checked my uncomfortable box real hard.
This made me feel genuinely feel uneasy and the horror elements being more psychological made for an even great viewing experience.
I need more from the Philippou brothers asap.

Not the 70s slasher vibe we got from X but a compelling character study about the origin of a psychologically tormented young woman. The horror is not as in your face as its predecessor but the unease remains.
Mia Goth delivers a stellar performance and that monologue is hauntingly beautiful and just pure perfection. She is a star and why she did not get nominated for that alone will always baffle me.

A truly perfect trilogy in the MCU does exist. It's quite rare we get 3 solid movies out of 1 IP but James Gunn did a fantastic job.
I cried more than I ever thought I would. I was completely broken after watching it and I know that if I need a good cry I will be rewatching.
The needle drops are still lit and the story and character arcs were wrapped up perfectly.
