  I think one of the things I love the most about the works of David Lynch is that they often exist in that liminal space between the personal unconscious dreamworld of the artist and the collective cultural unconscious. As such, and as surrealist art is wont to do, there are many elements that resist interpretation: they're not meant to be understood in a rational sense. And of course, Lynch is famous for being oblique, or even just flat out refuses…
