David lynch consistently reminded us of the power of our dreams and creativity. His art pushed us to engage with our thoughts, feelings, fears and hopes like no other artist before. His trust in human intuition and feeling have resulted in what I think is the strongest, most diverse, and bravest filmography of any filmmaker to date. He made this world less lonely, and believed in the power of love over anything. Rest in peace to a beautiful soul that this world was lucky to contain for an all too brief moment. He also made smoking look really cool
