Hard to put this masterpiece into words as it is best to just experience it for yourself. I feel like this film works on you much like how The Zone works on the three characters, with feelings of confusion and transcendence most prominent throughout the journey. Needs more than one viewing, certainly, and I can’t wait to revisit it.

The American Friend 1977
Thoroughly enjoyed this film. A tense and contemplative neo-noir, the plot is a slow burn. Focuses heavily on atmosphere with a feeling of existential dread permeating throughout the film. Combining the skill of the director, Wenders and cinematographer, Muller this film provides an exceptionally entertaining experience (EEE) that builds and maintains an air of tension through camerawork and the minimalist approach to the score. Wonderful acting, beautifully shot and worth a view.
