    i was supposed to watch Mickey 17 today, but after coming down with something, I’m now confined to my room instead. This more than just makes up for it. 

    Watching this movie felt like an itch you’ve been wanting to scratch and you finally do it without any repercussions. The rhythm, the mood, the soundtrack, the performances, everything was just incredible. To be honest, I didn’t know Adam Sandler had it in him to pull this off. 

    In hindsight, this is what I wanted Licorice Pizza to be. Turns out, I’d just picked the wrong film.

    Hollow, in both intent and execution. I wouldn’t necessarily label this propaganda however — but reactionary in the way sports coverage often is. But it’s a despicable study on mainstream media’s hunger for sensationalism, the power it holds to shape narratives, how the labels that define you once, stay the same forever, and how the pursuit of “balance” is less about adhering to journalistic principles and more about avoiding accountability. 

    I didn’t have high hopes with this film anyway, but…
