The acting in this film is incredible. Al Pacino's character is fundamentally a "powdered keg". This is manifested through the main character's outbursts and short temperedness. On the other hand, the character, Sal, is illustrated as timid and "shaky". The actor are terrific at fleshing out these characteristics. Therefore the characters feel more alive and in depth. Lake Mungo is a film about grief of losing a love one. It's a mockumentary with great performance. the performance is amazing because seeing the actors putting on a solemn mug and talk in an almost monotone voice can trick someone without prior knowledge of the film to believe it's real.
