This should be played at the beginning of every film festival in Canada. Marvelous.
Saw the Jury Award winning screening of this at SXSW; this film is absolutely wonderful. A heart-wrenchingly raw look at life with a narcissitic parent, the power of caring for others, and found family. Barbie Ferreira pours every inch of emotion into her performance and John Leguizamo's quiet and subdued motions can not be understated. French Stewart's line deliveries broke my heart, as the back and forth between him and Ferreira felt so convincing. I look forward to revisiting this powerful story with others. Amazing work from all involved.
