it’s weird because i should like this movie—it’s gay, beautifully shot, and has very little plot, which is my favourite genre of film. but something misses me completely when i watch it; i liked it more on rewatch but i still felt disconnected from it.
the most obvious issue is mara and blanchett’s chemistry, there are sparks (like when carol gives therese a makeover on the road trip, that was sweet and very sexy!) but for most of this movie…
