What struck me most is how suffocating it all feels—there’s no escape, no break, just this relentless descent into desperation. The way Refn uses the camera, shaky and uncomfortably close, made me feel trapped in their world. It’s not pretty, but it’s brutally honest.

  The performances, especially Mads Mikkelsen, even in a supporting role, is unforgettable. This stays with you long after it’s over, gnawing at you. Five stars
