The Big Heat 1953
Fritz Lang brings a lot of his characteristic heart and feeling to this one. It's a pretty grim Noir with a HELL of an opening and some surprisingly touching character moments throughout.

Maybe I'm cringe and can't handle a slow burn but man was it a SLOW burn. Really great set up and tension built up in the first act, and then by the third we're dragging on and on, often a bit needlessly with sequences that offer little impact. The ending was... Well. Far be it from me to criticize the special effects from a film made in 58. Vincent Price was really great in this. I love his voice.

What a weird film. It's language makes it PG-13 and it's premise is too high concept/logistical to appeal to children, yet it's too childish and silly to appeal to anyone older than, I don't know, 13?
