Death Walks on High Heels 1971
Cleverly disguised as a giallo, this film is really a whodunnit at heart. A French stripper (who needs to learn how to lock doors and windows) is threatened by a man who is demanding the location of jewels that her murdered father stole. She flees to England with an obsessive fan and that’s where the suspects turn up. All of the tropes are there: cheesy nightclub scenes, straight razor, trenchcoats and scantily clad women, but director Luciano ErcolI keeps us guessing enough to make this film a refreshing surprise.
