  (shamefully) first time watching a scorsese film! a very good start and i'm looking forward to watching the rest of his filmography. i might read the book after this.

  it's all so beautiful, the cinematography, the score, the costumes, the colors, the set design, the production, the flowers, winona ryder, daniel day-lewis, michelle pfeiffer, love love love it all!! great picks for the casting, incredible performances and so many emotions being conveyed with just glances and looks. the desire longing and yearning throughout the film is just so intense it makes my stomach hurt UGH just brilliant overall.

  ....? I mean i expected this to be bad (I've never seen an Audrey Hepburn film with such low ratings) but this is so insufferable to get through 😭 Bad direction, weird pacing, weak script, bland or just straight up bad performances, and the ugliest jungle set you've ever seen. The only good thing is perhaps Audrey and Anthony in technicolor with a little fawn, still such a waste of their talent.

  I'm still going through Hepburn's filmography but I would put this one wayyyyy down there on the ranking.

  this was one of the most surreal experiences with a movie i've had recently. this was SOOO good it was actually genius, i loved the atmosphere and the twists were so mind blowing! although i can't say i understood it all seeing there's a LOT going on here. david lynch fathered so hard and i plan to watch his other movies
