    This movie is dull and ineffective.
    I've really seen with my eyes and experienced on my skin many more absurd and violent things, made by Italian bureaucracy and Italian work recruiters.
    Therefore I think that this movie really miss the point it was trying to make.
    It doesn't make me, the Westerner, indignant. It makes me think "been there, done that".
    It trivialize the violence of Iranian regime, because it's based on a trivial idea of our (the Westerners) experiences and expectations. Because it's a movie made to please Western audiences, not to represent a grounded and challenging point of view for everyone.

    I really really really hate Carl Sagan's rhetoric. They could replace it with the old lines:

    "A new life awaits you in the Off-world colonies. The chance to begin again in a golden land of opportunity and adventure."

    An oversimplified tale about oversimplification.

    Curtis is a great trickster, there are some memorable moments, but everything in this movie is lost in the same foggy country between facts and fiction that it tries to depict, fleeing from complexity all the same, only to vanish in a smoke cloud of editing, soundtrack interventions, cynical lines and ludicrous quests for The Culprit, The Moment, and so on.
