I loved it. There's an obvious link to Twelve Angry Men here. In terms of morals, I think that they flipped its script. Whereas Fonda was morally superior to his peers, in this case everyone seems kinder and more proper than Hoult's (nevertheless conflicted) character. Even the angry dad stand-in (but this time it's a grieving brother) is better-intentioned than his Twelve Angry Men counterpart. And I loved both lawyers giving a damn. If this is Eastwood's last movie, he will have retired on a high note.
Messy and visually busy. Even as I give them kudos for the courage to establish that superheroes also get sick, I would have preferred a short deepfaked sequence in which T'Challa's death had been an act of heroism.
The closest we will ever get to a Steven Spielberg autobiography is an honest, kind, emotionally raw fable of his wonderful and at times quirky family.
Not perfect by any stretch, but not terrible either. Anna Chlumsky I don't much care for (except in Veep), but I always like watching Kevin Bacon. I appreciated the sentiment of the script and enjoyed the self-awareness when one of the characters says, "I keep expecting Jason Voorhees to show up."
