leaving the theatre where i watched this movie, someone described it as ‘uncomfortable’. i think that’s a brilliant word to use for this masterpiece.
there is something profound about the way scorsese uses silence in this picture. it is, i feel, supposed to be uncomfortable. this isn’t another white saviour movie where leonardo dicaprio swoops in and does no wrong. it is an uncomfortable reminder of what happened to the osage people.

incredible. outstandingly incredible film. not only are the horrors of the atomic bomb delicately displayed appropriate to the context of the film and also history, but this film overall is a true masterpiece. no movement goes without intention, and nolan‘s brilliance shines with this film, as does every cast member, particularly cillian murphy. incredible experience from start to finish.
