This might be one of the most joyous and authentic pieces of cinema I have ever seen.
This movie feels like it's being pulled apart at the seams by two completely different visions. Some parts want the horror to be forward and others want the quippy action movie. It manifests in very strange pacing and swings between tone. The atmosphere and story are right for a Hellboy movie though, which is cool.
This might be Mario Bava's magnum opus. A spectral gothic horror dream that has some beautiful sets and a twisted story that requires some attention to really get it.
The acting is a little stilted in spots, but it does not take away from the movie at all.
Not bad. Had some cool moments, but the editing was a little too frenetic.
