  It's probably not a good sign if I'm actively rooting for most of the cast to finally be killed while watching this. The biggest disappointment was never seeing 'the composer' get offed, he annoyed me the moment he first was on screen.

  I love Forties dames, and this is the dameyest film I've seen so far. Every female with a speaking role is a total smoke show. While Bacall is gorgeous, I think I would have found myself back at a certain bookstore instead.
