nonsensical montages does not a character study make. i wish this movie had been made in more capable directorial hands but a good enough premise to make it worth ur time

a perfect twisted, witty, biting, sharp, femme-centric start to 20biteen (albeit with a very sad ending -- the queen and sarah were in love!!).
Stunning (and refreshingly geometric and creatively imagined period) costumes, (a little too much) fish eye, strong performances, and nary a man in sight (except for nicholas hoult to wear a ridiculous wig and dance). a bechdel dream
(is the type of period drama i want to make/assist on? queer, ridiculous, and evocative -- yes)
