The Substance 2024
Super uncomfortable watch but I loved it. Body horror is one of the only things in the genre that can really get to me. Some of the effects in here had me struggling to watch they were so good. The closeup shots and sound design do such a good job at enhancing the grossness of everything and making you feel the characters emotions. It’s a predictable story but it doesn’t detract at all from the movie at all. The ending felt like a cross between Cronenberg, Carpenter, and Raimi and It was perfect.
