Sing Sing 2023
Haven’t seen The Brutalist yet so I can’t comment on Brody’s performance but I’ve seen the other four best actor nominated movies and of those, Domingo probably deserves the award. He really helps make this inspirational film as good as it is. Absolutely phenomenal stuff, carries so much emotional weight without ever feeling forced or contrived. I already wanna watch it again.

Biggest immediate takeaway from this is how good these actors are. Pattinson, Collette, and Ruffalo are generational talents who all have such a broad range in their performing capabilities. Naomi Ackie is great here too, definitely a rising star and Steven Yeun is just the goat.
Really liked this! Hilarious and expertly crafted with performances that perfectly fit the over-the-top tone. Can’t wait to watch this again, and in the meantime, I need to check out more Bong Joon-Ho films than the few I’ve seen.
