  Maybe it’s the charm of a Sunday afternoon movie, or the nostalgia of some 2D animation, but this was delightful. In front of me was a couple no younger than 70, and behind me was a kid no older than 12. And we all laughed at Daffy’s head exploding as he chewed a bad piece of gum. What more could you want?

  After over a decade spent in development purgatory, Wicked (part 1) finally arrives and is somehow… near perfect? Feels like strangely perfect timing as well, given, you know… the state of the world right now. But yeah, this rocks. The last 15 minutes with Defying Gravity probably go down as some of the best 15 minutes in musical cinema history. I completely understand splitting this into 2 movies now… HOW do you continue a movie after that song? You don’t. I’ll be catching my breath for 12 months before part 2 😭
