i wanted to like this movie, but as someone who had no connection to the broadway musical i found it very tough to connect to anything that was happening. the pacing was a major issue for me, we spent way too much time inserting scenes into certain musical sequences, and not nearly enough establishing elphaba and glinda’s relationship. the direction was also noticeably bad for me, and i’m saying this as someone who doesn’t typically pay attention to that. obviously…

A Real Pain 2024
really enjoyed this film !! fabulous performance from culkin (duh) and i found myself really relating to eisenberg’s character.
i think for me eisenberg’s writing style is a bit too matter of fact (what you see on screen is pretty much what you get) which works for some people, but keeps his stuff from really wowing me, or sticking w me long after i’ve watched it. i felt this way about his last film too, though i liked that one much more than most other users on this app.
overall, it was a great watch, and i would definitely recommend giving it a try !!
