I’m beginning to perhaps think I’m not much of a mark for “natural” horror.
Crawl tells the story of a woman attempting to reach her father during a brutal hurricane, only to have matters complicated by advanced flooding and the arrival of a comically large number of very aggressive alligators.
There’s an attempt at a complicated past between father and daughter, but this really isn’t that sort of film. The entire wisp of subplot washes away in the flood waters…

Scare Me popped up on Shudder recently (don't sleep on Shudder if you like horror, it's cheap and amazing!) and fit perfectly into a child nap shaped hole in my day.
It's maybe not directly horror. It's about horror. It's about storytelling. It's about the industry. It's about tropes. It's funny, heartwarming, interesting and yes, a little scary here and there.
