  Four things i learnt whilst watching babylon

  One : it's long
  Two : it's so long that by the end when it supposedly showcases how far cinema has come in 70 years, i feel like ive been watching the film for 70 years
  Three : it's stupidly long that it doesnt actually focus much time on making its sequences and characters memorable

  Watch number 2 after being too drunk to properly comprehend and having someone next to me giggling and trying to talk to me for the whole film.

  Its a beautifully, picture perfect shot film aesthetically and also has exceptional sound design. I thought the screenplay and exploration of the gothic, 19th Century setting paired with Eggers usual folklore explorations were fantastic.
