Sally Hawkins is a lovely British actor and this is a lovely British movie.
Czech premiere in Prague. Cool theater. I think if it was written and directed by Danny Boyle instead of only directed, it would’ve been better. No shade to Alex Garland though, I still like his work.
Watched this on a plane. Cried. I crode on the plane. Don’t get me wrong, City of God is great, but I think this is the only movie I’ve seen that’s set in Brazil and doesn’t feature kids with guns. It was nice to see a non-sensationalized version of Brazil life. Pretty somber film though.
