Eastwood’s been the go-to on family movie nights lately and I’m not complaining.
This is simple but still diverting. The location filming really stands out; I’d love to retreat to 70s Carmel-by-the-Sea and attend a jazz festival. Some moments, especially the scenes of Clint cruising to the radio, feel directly invoked by Tarantino for Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
Nice to see Yas in late-style chill mode, throwing on some retro flavored tunes, making space for kid/goat hijinks, and really taking the time to let these gorgeously animated island vistas be explored and soaked in. It’s a pretty enjoyable, if slight experience.
