    -Ok why are the Bakers late to Lorraine's graduation? Sure, they're a family of 12 but damn, you think they would have planned for this

    -I didn't remember Aaron from Mean Girls is in this

    -Nora is so self-centered, like she says that she's "not going to make this about" herself but then proceeds to tell everyone's she moving on stage at Lorraine's grad party?! Like goddamn

    -Those twins…

    despite my laptop screen being at full brightness throughout, i still could not help myself from desperately trying to turn it up. it never helped. you cannot see shit in this movie.

    i simply cannot stop watching middling flops from 15 years ago. threading the needle between seth rogen comedy and 3D superhero franchise starter does not work, but sony really wanted it to! michel gondry seems asleep at the wheel for the majority of the runtime, save for some cool flourishes in the action scenes and that one hard bounty montage i knew about already. cameron diaz definitely owed someone a favor to appear in this, and james franco does a lamer version of his “look at my shit!” monologue 2 years early.

    you can tell they’re really rich at saltburn because they have access to superbad (released august 17, 2007) on dvd and “low” by flo rida (hit single from step up 2: the streets…2008) in the summer of 2006.

    edit: i have now seen the interview in which emerald fennell confirms it is in fact 2007 (i guess) and the film in question was received via screener from someone involved in the production. which now begs the question…who is rosamund pike’s…
