  - the "violent-but-in-love" companion is not the culprit
  - the feminists are dumdums who make snap judgments (cf. the superficial codified juror who promptly judges the accused) 
  - the progressive prosecutor who runs for office to defend women's rights is necessarily frowned upon and pushy (cf. first discussion on the phone)
