Lost Highway 1997
"I like to remember things my own way, how I remember them, not necessarily how they happened."
"Lost Highway" is brimming with symbolism and metaphors, which is typical of a David Lynch film. On my second viewing, I found that the story made much more sense than it did the first time. Many people share this initial confusion, making rewatching the film particularly valuable.
"Lost Highway" is a surreal psychological thriller that intertwines themes of identity, reality, and the subconscious.β¦

Fright Night 1985
"Fright Night" is the perfect horror comedy in my eyes. Its balance of vampiric terror and tongue-in-cheek humor makes it a must-see for everyone who enjoys the vampire subgenre. This delicate tonal balance is exemplified by the character of Peter Vincent, a washed-up actor turned reluctant vampire hunter whose comedic antics provide comic relief amidst the film's darker moments.
Visually, "Fright Night" is a testament to the creativity and craftsmanship of practical effects in 80s horror. The film's Gothic-inspired sets,β¦

Night Angel 1990
A demonic angel sets her sights on infiltrating a fashion magazine, using her beauty and charm to manipulate the men around her and spread corruption. The men in this film are hilariously clueless, and watching them stumble over themselves is half the fun. Visually, itβs got a cozy, stylish aesthetic that reminds me exactly why I love campy horror. It doesnβt try to be deep - everything is surface-level with a clear focus on fun, over-the-top camp, and for me, thatβs more than enough to have a great time!

Firestarter 1984
"Firestarter" is a gripping story about a young girl with the power to create fire with her mind. Hunted by a secret government agency, she and her father fight to survive and stay free. Itβs a tense, emotional tale about control, fear, and the dangerous lengths people will go to exploit power. At its heart, itβs also about the bond between a parent and child, and how far theyβll go to protect each other. In my mind it's one the better adaptations of Stephen King's works. It left me craving for more.

Dracula: Prince of Darkness 1966
"Dracula: Prince of Darkness" is another standout entry in Hammer's Dracula series, once again starring Christopher Lee. This installment returns to a more traditional Gothic horror setup: two unsuspecting couples ignore dire warnings and find themselves lured into Dracula's castle. Predictably, the Count is resurrectedβand he's more bloodthirsty than ever.
One aspect I found a bit disappointing was Draculaβs complete lack of dialogue. In this film, heβs less the sophisticated, charismatic predator we saw in the previous installment and moreβ¦
