the real horror of this movie is how horrid graduate students are. the main characters pissed me off SO bad and I adore Florence Pugh. I think with many shows the characters piss me off but I can concede that okay they were intentionally written to be annoying and thus it’s implied they did a good job as actors. NO! This is beyond salvation. furthermore it is like - so slow … regretfully I watched this during my weed sobriety streak , i think it could be mildly palatable on drugs.

the director said something along the lines of this is a story of the pathology of loneliness and when considering the movie in that context I think it executes its mission really well. stellar acting from De Niro, the entirety of it is shot beautifully & set to an incredible score. dude discourse around this movie is kinda sucky sorta concerning but that shouldn’t dissuade a watch.
