This is a love hate relationship with this film. My undying affection for Aubrey Plaza can’t save the biphobic dialogue mixed with the straight awakening storyline. The story with the main character, her family, and her home was moving and beautiful but was overshadowed by the “romantic” drivel. They could have done this better. Halloween H20: 20 Years Later 1998
This is my hear me out cake of the Halloween franchise. Yes I know LL Cool J is in it. I am also aware that this renders previous movies in the franchise utterly useless and doesn’t follow the lore. But is that such a bad thing? This is by far the least preposterous of all of the series films with the most logical explanation of all of the Halloweens that Michael Myers just sleeps on. You get some pretty gruesome violence and deaths and a nice rounded out conclusion. It should have ended here.

Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers 1995
After rewatching this I remembered what a convoluted waste of time it is. But really that’s like many of the films in the Halloween franchise. But silver lining… Paul Rudd 😍 (even though he’s creepy af in this)

Woman of the Hour 2023
Anna Kendrick did not disappoint in her directing debut. Depicting the brutality faced by women by not only a serial killer but also by chauvinism that sets women up to be victims of society. This movie sets a bar for true crime that you don’t have to revictimize someone’s memory with gore and schlock to tell their story.
