    Witness to Murder

    ★★★

I was only doing something the police should have done in the first place. If they hadn’t been so cocksure of themselves.

‘Witness to Murder’ is a sturdy blue collar Noir. It has a great performance by Stanwyck, haunting cinematography by Alton, and a solid story.

It is a low budget ‘Rear Window’, and breaks some new ground. The psych ward nurse seems to be the inspiration for Nurse Rached from Cuckoos Nest. It also has a ‘Dragnet’ kind of feel. Its good not great.

For in hate there is love. True love. Love that gives pain.

  • The Fallen Sparrow

    The Fallen Sparrow

    ★★★★

“What do you want a gun for?” “To shoot people with.”

‘The Fallen Sparrow’ is an incredible Noir displaying the psychological damage of war. John Garfields monologue recounting his experience as a prisoner of war was captivating.

This is a very good Noir that has three killer femme fatales and keeps you guessing until the end. The directing, story, and editing are top notch.

You can tell that to the little man in Berlin.

"Oh You've Got To Be FuckIng Kidding!"

The Thing is a phenomenal horror film, mixing in suspense, haunting, and then delivering on a horrific creature. Pre CGI and the effects are great, that head crawling scene tho!! A masterpiece by John Carpenter!!

It's amazing to think Blade Runner and The Thing were released on the same day 6.25.1982

    Godzilla Minus One

    ★★★★★

    “Is your war finally over?”

Godzilla Minus One is a great movie returning to its roots of what made her so complex in the original movie.

This movie delivers on so many levels, it delivers on the Kaiju awesomeness, the soundtrack is great (especially Godzilla’s motif), and it gives you a strong story and decent characters development! The story arc of Koichi is very good despite the Hollywood resolve. The set design (it felt like a period piece), and atmosphere…
