While not what I expected Eggers’ rendition of Nosferatu pays beautiful homage and tribute to the original. Bill Skarsgard disappears as Count Orlok and, alongside Lily Rose Depp, shows us the truly evil nature of the monster in the films title.

Even on a second watch this holds up! The tension is palpable, and the constant justification for character actions is done extremely well. I will say, the final reveal is less eventful for the a second time and some small details I would change, but overall the journey these characters go on is extremely impactful.

A historical drama with the vision of a bombastic spectacle, this movie made the “hype” around it also feel full of guilt.
It’s so easy to forget that the entire purpose of the path it shows Oppenheimer start on in the beginning of the film ends with his creation being used to change the world for the worse.
