2001: A Space Odyssey 1968
If I watched it back in 1968 I know I would rate this film much higher. It clearly is the inspiration George Lucas used for the Star Wars trilogy in terms of visual effects and space motions. The script is okay, but not awesome. It surely marked an entire generation. So close to reaching the moon in 1969 and only 25 years later than the end of WWII, many people thought that in 30 more years we would be going to Jupiter.

Quite interesting film with a plot twist in the end but one where you never really trusted the protagonist, he doesn't call your empathy that much. However, there are some moments during the film where you really feel sorry for him. The screen play is amazing, the performances by the actors stunning and I would rate the film a 9/10 overall. Original, as not many movies nowadays.
P.D: there are some perturbing scenes that make you feel really uncomfortable watching the movie.
