The TMZ scenes had me hollering, and the Osama Bin Laden song was a highlight. The music was fun and Lonely Island feels like such a relic of the Bush/Obama years that I felt oddly nostalgic. Laughing at astute ribald wordplay layered with cultural commentary feels soooo 2010. Feels like when YouTube was that girl.
The captain’s dinner sequence was immaculate. The most decent thing rich people can do is give away what excess they have. Anything else is a burden.
I don’t want to eat the rich. It’s more that I won’t the rich to leave me alone and stop forcing me into abject state of being through boot-strap policies and condescension.
Idk if I liked it or not but the first part was immaculate! The pacing, the cinematography, the themes (how American immigration encourages (financially rewards!) asssimilation/lying over the truth. How truth in America is always determined by who owns the money. Immigrants become American by living in its paradoxes…there was so much in the first part! It was so deliciously rich. Then…Part 2…
