  Here's the thing about Mark Wahlberg: I generally like the guy and believe he's a great talent--when paired with the right director.

  Think back on some of his more memorable roles as Dirk Diggler in P.T. Anderson's "Boogie Nights", or more recent roles in David O. Russell's "The Fighter" and Scorsese's "The Departed" (for which he received an Academy Award nomination) and you see that he's grown well beyond his days as a rapper/underwear model.
