Rewatched in IMAX and this is definitely the way to watch this thing. The visuals and soundtrack are so damn good bro, I teared up and even the annoying mfers in front of me couldn’t ruin it. The themes of environmentalism, capitalism, good and evil are explored so well. You want to root against the humans but their struggle is so understandable and well, human. I do think parts of the movie are weaker, I don’t buy the chemistry between Ashitaka and San for some reason. But all in all, Miyazaki’s magnum opus bro shit is goated.

I was so excited for this since Memories of Murder is one of my favourite movies but damn was this disappointing. Poor writing, terrible exploration of environmentalism and classism which Bong Joon Ho has been great at previously. It’s a shitty snowpiercer which is so frustrating. Don’t really understand why it’s getting such high reviews, even my friend thought it was decent. Dk what I’m missing.
