I love how the Transformers CGI blends into the environment here. It’s noticeably indirect, focusing on humans catching glimpses of the scale/speed of each towering robot. Motion blur can do wonders for hiding dated CGI. My favorite shot of the movie is when Sam, taking cover behind a car, catches Starscream transforming back into an F22 and blasting off between city buildings.
The best use of VFX across any of the live action movies is still this one imo.

I could not believe how invested I was by the end of this movie. Twitter guy was not messing around, this Transformers flick nails the rivalry that builds between Optimus and Megatron. I haven’t been this upset over an “enemies by the end” story since Insomniac’s first Spider-Man game.

There’s a lot I love but also a fair amount of goofy choices made imo. The chapter titles did not fit here (immersion taken away), I kept wanting to see Chris Hemsworth do more evil shit, I kept wanting to see Furiosa do more evil shit, and overall I thought the focus of the movie was not there.
