The entire movie feels like it was written stoned by someone who is ultimately far out of touch with the larger zeitgeist, with youth, with his own past. I don't know how anybody is moved by this - I guess he just knew that people were desperate enough for a little palliative fun and suspension of the disbelief currently required by our daunting post-truth, beplagued, anxiously politically correct times.
I don't even think this looks or feels like accurate nostalgia?…
