  this didn't go in the direction i thought it was going to go in, but this was such a beautiful heart wrenching movie

  because i've read the book i knew what was coming, and was fully expecting to cry my eyes out at the end

  walking out of the theater, instead of tears on my cheeks, i feel a hollow ache in my chest which is how i would describe the conditions of the nickel academy

  there's a sign in the infirmary that reads something along the lines of, "don't let them forget us" which is so fitting for the movie as well as the characters

  what a brilliant film that really stretches the media of film into something that could be felt beneath your skin with every frame
