Just a solid overall movie
Cut down on the human side antics and it significantly benefited the plot
Keanu as shadow was perfect
Shadow revenge plotline won me over
Jim Carrey playing both robotniks was superbly done

Reviews largely better for the second than the first but I’m not sure I agree. Felt less natural, I think less Marsden Carrey interactions hurt the film, the Hawaii storyline could have been cut and half and likely bettered the plot
Idris elba as knuckles with consistent unserious line deliveries was incredible
Carrey is far crazier as Robotnik and steals the scene every time

Pleasantly surprised by this film
Writing was genuinely witty although simple and digestible for an entire family to enjoy
The back and forth between Marsden and Carrey was top tier???
Hints of the Grinch and the Mask throughout Robotnik. I didn’t know if I would like the silly take of him but it was fun
Multiple subtle Sonic references made me nostalgically realize sonic had a bigger part of my childhood than I remembered

This app has expanded my willingness to watch bad movies however I was unable to finish this one completely
I wonder if I didn’t know the drama behind the production if it would have changed my reaction but tbh I think it made me watch longer than I would have previously
