I want to give this movie a 5 out of 5 but there is a poetic tragedy to it. I saw the 4K AI up rez they put in theaters. A movie about alien pop stars being kidnapped by a evil record label to be exploited for the profit of immortality set too Daft Punk’s Discovery just comes off as so tone death to have been hastily put through AI. I hope the animation is given One More Time to be properly restored and given another run.

You should know when going into this that it is just an edited down version of the first 15 episodes. If you haven’t seen the movie it was a treat to see the animation on the big screen in full force. This release was updated for 4K and it does show. The animation still looks fantastic but if you don't have context for the show some of the editing can be a bit jarring even when you do know the show.
