OLDBOY THERE'S NO NEED TO FEEL DOWN I SAY OLDBOY

It's not hard to see why Oldboy is so critically acclaimed. It's great action, cinematography, performances, themes, and the twist make it an interesting watch. But here's the thing: I guessed the twist in the first 15 minutes. It's not like I figured out the whole thing, but I was correct on a couple main aspects. The Maltese Falcon's feels super classic Hollywood in a strangely nostalgic way. The story is very investing as you watch the deception and lies unravel. Everybody here kind of sucks which makes for some interesting themes on how far people will go to accomplish their goals. It's ultimately nothing revolutionary, but still a good watch. Humphrey Bogart does a good job being Humphrey Bogart, but Peter Lorre and Sydney Sweetheart steal the show with borderline cartoon performances. I really love the dramatic soundtrack.

Iris and Josh's relationship is directly inspired by toxic relationships based on manipulation. Iris is immediately super easy to sympathize with. Despite it's subject matter, it's a really fun ride. The movie constantly keeps you guessing what…
