It is not easy to capture an insight into humanity that is so all at once niche and yet harrowingly universal in the way the characters unfold themselves. I am admittedly biased towards anything remotely anti-Natalist, but this movie makes a beautifully violent, gut-wrenchingly articulate statement on the fundamental nature of violence and the ways in which it sits in the bones of the world. What Alex Garland failed to drive home in “Men,” “Barbarian” hits squarely upon the head-and takes it beyond.

Sorry to Bother You 2018
I had a lot of problems with this film, but I watched it so long ago that it doesn’t seem worth the effort to work myself up again thinking about it.
What I can say is that it fails fundamentally as a critique of the capitalist machine we live in.
Sorry, but this film started off as being on the nose, and then just became the whole nose.
