  Creepy freak seduces child then haunts her into adulthood, until she is forced to choose between saving her true love (and society as a whole) or saving herself.

  Thomas, the husband, is a great entry point into the story because of his normalcy. 

  This film is a nice blend of OG Nosferatu and the original book Dracula. I like the stylistic choices - sound design, unusual cinematography,  and practical effects were great. 

  Overall, I liked it. A new vampire classic for those who enjoy the stranger parts of cinema and storytelling.

  Horror done right - creepy, surprising, disturbing, suspenseful, with unique and nuanced explorations of inherited relational trauma.

  I love the feeling of unreality and claustrophobia in the establishing shots. All the technical aspects of this film are really top tier. And the performances! Wow, so good. 

  The plot is crazy but somehow relatable. Being blamed for your mother’s greatest tragedies is definitely a nightmare.
