I love Robert Eggers, and after The Lighthouse and The Northman my expectations were (in my opinion) not unreasonably high. Maybe in that sense it's my fault that this film disappointed me. The script is annoying and prolonged and the direction seemingly pulled the reins on an otherwise great cast.
