  for some reason, sean baker’s neon neorealism always sets my expectations low in terms of emotional impact, but just like with tangerine and the florida project, i walked out of anora emotionally shell shocked and completely speechless. ik this style reads as threadbare characterization for many, but there are a thousand details in this movie that i.cant.get.over. also Yura Borisov was so good time to watch his entire filmography. 

  tl;dr: a necessary deconstruction of the Pretty Woman myth
