While not without some good scenes, the movie on the whole it's a bit too rocky to really enjoy.

The story, which credit for bothering to actually put one in your action movie, is told largely through a series of lengthy flashbacks randomly throw into various scenes which take place in the present. Largely this functions, as many such movies will, as a sort of extended episode of the show. It works fine as what it's trying to be. It's generally funny enough, no full on belly laughs but I got a few chuckles out of it. The late stage redemption of Homer feels a bit (read significantly) unearned but it's kinda mandatory that the movie ends on a positive note so I'll let it go without too much fussing.

Connery's second to last (or third to last if you're counting Never Say Never Again) outing as Bond is a step up from Thunderball.

This film sees Bond sent to Japan and makes very certain that you don't forget that. Promptly after entering the country, Bond is sent to witness a Sumo wrestling match before being attacked by a man with a katana, drinking sake, and eventually seeing a ninja training school. Yes really. The filmmakers probably did go a…
