  Retrospect defines this movie in it's content and reaction to it's form. The film is ultimately about a women's malaise towards the lasting memories of her father. Her retrospective image of him is a mix of truth and falsity of a child's imagination, mixed with empirical footage. This shown by a women thinking back, smartly done through a rave sequence that enters the screen occasionally throughout.   High quality picture. Performances from Cillian Murphy and Robert Downey Jr were great throughout, and Emily Blunt stole the scenes she had. Murphy ought to be nominated at least.
  A culmination of Nolan's oeuvre, politically and cinematically. At his heart he is a conservative with a small c, even though it was subtle here. The cinematography, set pieces, and script are the mark of a master auteur. Great director, despite his political tendencies.
