    Columbus (Friday the 13th!)

    It’s wild to have two theatrical experiences this special back to back. I was thinking maybe 35-45 people would show up (if I was lucky), but the theater was *packed* 🤯 The room overflowed with love and support. I saw old friends, new friends, cast, crew, and even my ex from high school drove into town. The Q&A after was a breeze — just chatting with a room full of friends.

    This story may not provide the same chills found in The Innocents (1961) or The Haunting (1963), but The Uninvited does stand with them in its glorious visuals. Brilliant cinematography and production design. The influence of Rebecca (1940) seems clear, but I mean that with a positive connotation. I didn’t expect to find another 40s film that captures such a similar gothic, seaside beauty 🖤
